If you are interested in joining Cascade Chorus, you are very welcome to come along to our singing practice and have a look for yourself!

We meet every Wednesday evening at All Saints Church hall, Catherington, PO8 0TD, between 7:30 and 10pm (What 3 words app: vowel,rainfall,testers). We do encourage every member to attend regularly as it makes such a difference to our performances. Click here to Contact us.

We are Barbershop singers which means that there is no backing music, just our voices but the sound we make is amazing. The chorus is split into four singing parts. Tenors sing the high part, Leads sing the main melody, Baritones weave around the main melody and the Basses sing the low part. 

 

What happens next?

A member of the music team will talk to you and listen to you sing scales or sing a simple song. this will help them to get an idea of your range and which part is suitable for you. If you decide that you would like to join us you will be given a song to learn for an audition but there is no rush. You can do it when you are ready. Don't worry if you cannot read music you are not the only one. The sheet  music given to you will have words on and one of our members will email you the  teach tracks, in four separate parts to help you. You will also have support from the section leader depending on which singing part you are.

Our repertoire is varied and covers many genres. From American Barbershop, Country & Western, Rhythm & Blues, Gospel, Ballads, songs from the Shows, Carols & Christmas Songs and popular music from the 50's onwards.

 We adapt ourselves to the occasion, and have sung at weddings, fetes, concerts, parties, retirement homes and Christmas functions. We sing at Venues across Hampshire and West Sussex, from Petersfield to Portsmouth, and Fareham to Chichester, and anywhere in between!
