The Cascade Southdowns Ladies Harmony Chorus love to sing and entertain our audiences, and we also like to support local charities.

Whenever we sing we ask for a small fee, part of which goes to our chosen charity.

Our chosen charity for 2018/2019 is the Children’s Bubbles Fund which is  raising money for the Paediatrics Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

This fund will enhance the children’s services and facilities, making their  stay a more comfortable and friendly experience.

Early this year the choir were able to present another cheque for £400 to the RDA Chairman Shirley Harris

In 2016 and 2017 we chose to support Shedfield Riding for the Disabled who are members of the nationwide charity Riding for the Disabled Association.

At Shedfield they provide therapeutic horse riding for both adults and children with a very wide range of disabilities. The simple pleasure of riding horses is the cornerstone of all RDA’s activities. From that starting point everything else flows – be that freedom of movement, gaining confidence, building relationships, receiving life-enhancing physiotherapy or achieving individual goals. We were delighted to present a cheque for £850 to Shedfield RDA Chairman Shirley Harris in April 2017.

We also support local food banks. On the first Wednesday of each month we each bring a tin or item of non-perishable food, which we then donate to a local food bank.

We've all got spare tins in our cupboards, or it's easy to pickup something from the supermarket that's on a 2 for 1 offer, so it doesn't have to cost anything.

If you'd like to support the food bank too, then please drop your donation in during our Wednesday rehearsal.
