About us

The Cascade Southdowns Ladies Harmony Chorus was founded in 2002 , with a group of around 20 local women. Our ages range from 25-75 with different backgrounds but we all have the same passion, singing. Singing brings everyone together helping us to make new friends, learn new songs and having lots of fun too. In September 2023, we changed our name to Cascade Chorus.

Our varied repertoire covers Barbershop, Country and Western, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Ballads, songs from shows, Carols and Christmas songs and popular music from the 50's onwards.

We have sung at various events such as weddings, fetes, concerts, parties, retirement homes and Christmas functions and more recently a memorial service for Forever Together Funeral Funeral Care.

Our singing has supported local charities such as the Rowan's Hospice, Children in Need, and the Air Ambulance.

###### This year, our chosen charity is The Rosemary Foundation in Petersfield. ######       https://rosemary-foundation.org.uk

The Rosemary Foundation was founded in 1997 by a group of dedicated former staff members of the Bordean House palliative care unit, to provide a ‘Hospice at Home’ service for patients suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Since then, the Foundation has supported over 3,300 patients (November 21) and their respective loved ones, and has extended the area it covers to serve a wide range of place, including Mid and South East Hampshire and into West Sussex.

The Rosemary Foundation is fully funded from grants, donations and legacies and receives no statutory funding except in exceptional circumstances where we have supported our NHS colleagues to reduce hospital admissions.

Our chosen charity for 2022/2023 was George's Rockstars - their mission to bring Music Therapy to Children in Hospital. More information.

Our chosen charity for 2018/2019 was the Children’s Bubbles Fund which is  raising money for the Paediatrics Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital. This fund will enhance the children’s services and facilities, making their  stay a more comfortable and friendly experience.

In 2016 and 2017 we chose to support Shedfield Riding for the Disabled, who are members of the nationwide charity Riding for the Disabled Association.

At Shedfield they provide therapeutic horse riding for both adults and children with a very wide range of disabilities. The simple pleasure of riding horses is the cornerstone of all RDA’s activities. From that starting point everything else flows – be that freedom of movement, gaining confidence, building relationships, receiving life-enhancing physiotherapy or achieving individual goals. We were delighted to raise over £1,200 for Shedfield RDA.
