CHRISTMAS CHARITY EVENT AT THE RED LION, CHALTON 16th December 1pm
We are delighted to have been invited to sing at the Red Lion's Christmas Charity Event.
They are hoping to raise money for Shooting Star Chase which provides Children's Hospice Care. www.shootingstarchase.org.uk
They are also going to be Fundraising for QA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The Cascade Southdowns Ladies Harmony Chorus love to sing and entertain our audiences, and we also like to support local charities. Whenever we sing we ask for a small fee, part of which goes to our chosen charity.
RIDING FOR THE DISABLED
For 2016 and 2017 we have chosen Shedfield Riding for the Disabled who are members of the nationwide charity Riding for the Disabled Association.
At Shedfield they provide therapeutic horse riding for both adults and children with a very wide range of disabilities. The simple pleasure of riding horses is the cornerstone of all RDA’s activities. From that starting point everything else flows – be that freedom of movement, gaining confidence, building relationships, receiving life-enhancing physiotherapy or achieving individual goals. We were delighted to present a cheque for £850 to Shedfield RDA Chairman Shirley Harris in April 2017.
For more information visit the RDA website at http://www.rda.org.uk/ or their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/shedfieldridingfordisabled
We also support local food banks. On the first Wednesday of each month we each bring a tin or item of non-perishable food, which we then donate to a local food bank.
We've all got spare tins in our cupboards, or it's easy to pickup something from the supermarket that's on a 2 for 1 offer, so it doesn't have to cost anything.
If you'd like to support the food bank too, then please drop your donation in during our Wednesday rehearsal.
